Frontend Engineer II @ AMAZON
DESCRIPTION
Amazon Pay Travel team at Amazon India Development Center, Hyderabad is looking for a Frontend engineer to design and build the next generation best in the industry Travel platform and product. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a team that will be responsible for building a successful, sustainable and strategic business for Amazon with senior technology and product leaders.
You will get the opportunity to code on different Amazon Pay Travel categories like - Trains, Flights and Bus stack building features and improving business metrics. This team will work on diverse technology stack from SOA, UI frameworks, big-data and ML algorithms.
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping the product direction and will be actively involved in defining key product features that impact the business. You will work with Principal Engineers at Amazon to evolve the design and architecture of the products owned by this team. You will be responsible to set up and hold a high software quality bar besides providing technical direction to a highly technical team of Software Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Participate in the full development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters, including test plan execution and software quality needs.
- Own the delivery of a piece of a system or application
- Execution against project plans and delivery commitments.
- Build software solutions where the problem is defined to a point.
- Create and execute appropriate quality plans, project plans, test strategies and processes for development activities in concert with business and project management efforts.
- Drive improvements in processes and operational excellence
- Help to mentor interns
The ideal candidate will be a leader, quick learner and be able to work independently. He/she should be able to operate in a very fast paced environment where time to hit market is super critical. The candidate will need to balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
- 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
